Campomarino di Maruggio, better known to the inhabitants of the area and not as Marina di Maruggio, represents the hamlet of the homonymous municipality of Taranto which is populated only during the summer.

The port of this hamlet overlooking the Ionian-Salento coast is the only port structure present in the stretch of coast that goes from Porto Cesareo to Taranto.

The port of Campomarino di Maruggio is a refuge port, protected by a breakwater of about 400 m and a breakwater of 230 m. Inside we find a central pier that divides the water mirror in two, forming the fishing basin to the east and the tourist basin to the west.

The entire port area of Campomarino is protected by an approximately 350 m long breakwater pier and a 250 m long breakwater pier. Access to boats is quite dangerous with winds of the II and III quadrant especially due to the presence of rocks near the mouth and shoals near the internal quay of the breakwater.

The dock, managed by the company Torre Moline SpA, has several negative sides linked above all to the presence of putrefying sand and algae that give off a nauseating smell with winds from the south plus the need to dredge the seabed.
