This arboretum on the Grenzweg (Hessian-Bavarian state border) was created by the forestry department of the Großostheim district. It provides information with display boards on climate change and how forestry is reacting to it. 50 (!) tree species were planted along a path, including a giant sequoia and a primeval sequoia. The Sequoiadendron giganteum can live up to 3,000 years. However, we will no longer be able to experience how it has fared for him over the years.
