In 1891 the master miller Karl Lüttgerding had this Dutch windmill built by the Peiner mill construction company Wilhelm Tiedt. Previously, as was so often the case, there was a post windmill.
Originally the mill drove to 3 stone grinders along with associated screening machines. In 1924, the wings of the mill were destroyed. After a preserved architectural drawing of the well-known mill construction Wetzig from Wittenberg / Elbe, the mill is then with new technology, u. a. two roller chairs, provided, on the re-commissioning of the wind drive was waived.
The son Karl Lüttgerding operated the mill until 1953 by engine power. Furthermore, Lüttgerding worked for several years as a senior master of the Müllerinnung for the district Peine.
After decommissioning and years of decay, the mill was rebuilt for residential purposes and restored to the outer image with a replica cap and wing imitations.
