One of the strongest, most widespread and deepest Croatian karst springs. Hydrogeomorphological monument of nature, protected since 1963. Since 1997, it has been within the boundaries of the Risnjak National Park, together with the upper course of the river.

The Kupa spring has a diameter of approx. 50 m and is one of the deepest and largest springs in Croatia and delivers 1200 L of crystal clear water per second. As far as the facts go, it still seems to the unbiased visitor as if a river appeared out of nowhere. You can't see that huge amounts of water are pushing out of the ground here. A very impressive place!
