"The Sanctuary of the Beata Panacea al Piano is located in the town of Quarona, a short distance from the railway station. The foundation date is set at around 1409 even if the first document in the parish archive dates back to 1523. The church, collection and elegant, it was built in the place where, according to tradition, the oxen yoked to the hearse of Panacea stopped, without wanting to continue on; at that point the oxen were replaced with two heifers which continued their journey up to Ghemme. some relics of the blessed were placed in this church before being moved to the parish church by the parish priest Bernardino Lancia, active in Quarona between 1590 and 1632 and biographer of the blessed."
