Doña Josefina Plá was born in 1903 in the lighthouse of Lobos (Faro de Martiño) to Leopoldo Plá and Rafaela Guerra Galvani. Her exact date of birth is unknown, her best-known biographer Raúl Amaral gives November 9th. In 1926 she arrived in Paraguay and settled in Villa Aurelia, later moving to the capital, Asunción.
She wrote poetry, stories and essays and had a significant impact on intellectual life in Paraguay.
