The cities of Schärding and Passau are traditionally linked due to their close proximity and shared history on the Inn.

The Upper Austrian baroque town and the three-river town in Bavaria are also linked by the Inn Cycle Path. From the baroque ambience of Schärding, the path leads north, past Wernstein and through green meadows, finally to Passau.

Course of the route: You leave Schärding via the Old Inn Bridge and on the Bavarian side, immediately after the former customs house, turn right onto the Inn Cycle Path, where you reach Neuburg am Inn via Vornbach. Here you cross the Inn over the Marienbrücke to Wernstein am Inn. We continue along the Inn Cycle Path R3 past the Ingling power plant to the three-river city of Passau. The Passau Cathedral with the largest cathedral organ in the world is particularly worth seeing.
