Hiking
In 1869 the dolmen was partly demolished and all objects found in the burial chamber were taken with them.
In 1871 the province of Drenthe bought the dolmen of the boermarke (medieval collective of larger farmers) from Valthe.
Later the dolmen was transferred from Het Drentse Landschap to Staatsbosbeheer in an exchange.
