The FFH area "Börsteler Wald und Teichhausen" is located west of Quakenbrück on the northern foothills of the Ankumerhöhe, a terminal moraine of the Saale glacial period. Small stands of near-natural deciduous forests, narrow streams and valuable wet biotopes can usually be found between coniferous forests and areas used as arable land or grassland. (Source: NLWKN Nds.). In the early 1960s, the small settlement of Teichhausen was demolished. The viewer has to look very closely to find the foundations.
