The ruins of a paper mill that was built in 1853. The Marietta Paper Mill, also known as the "rag mill", produced paper from old linen rags and cotton. It was in production from 1855 to 1902. The mill was an important source of production for integral pieces for guns and weaponry during the American Civil War.
