    The water and observation tower Birnbaum stands on a forest-free ridge at Birnbaum and offers a magnificent all-round view.

      Wonderful vision. However, if you want to go to Leitschgrund or along forest paths to Hubertushöhe, you have to turn right (east) 200 m beforehand.

      The tower itself was built between 1987 and 1989 by the Frankenwaldgruppe Water Supply Association. The reason was a fire caused by lightning in 1983, which destroyed several farms. The tower improves the pressure conditions in the water supply and offers a covered viewing platform at a height of 29 m.
