Information panels about the environmental disaster caused by hundred years of gold mining. In the 1980s the use of cyanide turned this once beautiful mountain and the rivers below Summitville into a highly contaminated toxic wasteland, costing US taxpayers already millions of dollars more in cleanup than the profit (pocketed by private companies) from the gold and copper it produced.
