La Peña is a very beautiful viewpoint in Valle de Bravo whose origin dates back to pre-Hispanic times, as it is thought that the ancient inhabitants came to this site to perform therapeutic rituals in the temazcales that have been found in the rock. From there also comes the old name of the town: San Francisco del Valle de Temascaltepeque.
