Coming off smooth tarmac, you're suddenly into a rough gravel track that meanders up the side of Mont Lozère. It's a challenging yet rewarding section as the trees thin out for stunning views across the high peaks.

Long and demanding climb!
This climb in Bikepacking was one of the most trying of the Ardèche Cévennes Divide for me.
However, it is well worth leaving it there, the arrival on the plateau is so magnificent, you feel far from everything on magnificent quality Gravel tracks.
