The hermitage of Our Lady of Joy, next to the cemetery, was the old parish church of Sant Cebrià de Tiana until 1927, when the function of parish church was moved to the new church built in the center. of the town and from which time the old parish became known as the hermitage of Our Lady of Joy, a devotion that took an old side altar in the late sixteenth century.

The site of Tiana is already documented in 989, but the church of Sant Cebrià did not do so until 1018. The original construction, then, was a Romanesque building, probably built on the remains of a villa. romana. We know that in 1104 Bishop Berenguer of Barcelona consecrated a new temple dedicated to Sant Cebrià.
