In this place, the academics of the Argamasilla celebrated their Cervantes evenings. It was precisely here that they met with José Martínez Ruiz, Azorín, when, on the occasion of the third centenary of Don Quixote, in 1905, he visited the town.
The Argamasilla Academics continue to exist today as a cultural association dedicated to the study and defense of our Cervantes tradition.
