Here once stood salt marshes. The site was purchased in 2001 by the Conservatoire du Littoral. It is a wild and extremely diverse wetland, where you can see more than 300 different species of birds. The flamingo is a bit of a local star here, and many people come to the old salt flats to admire them. Between April and August, however, you are unlikely to see many: the pink flamingo then enters its reproduction period, which it passes away from the old salt flats.
