Case Serro Forest Trail

After an hour's walk and 300m of altitude difference you arrive near Case Serro. A little further on, a dirt clearing has a crossroads with an illustrative sign. We avoid the route to the left that leads to Framura along the northern slope of Monte Serra and continue downhill on the right, on a comfortable panoramic track.

It is easy to be struck by the vegetation of dying pines. The landscape is in fact influenced by the cochineal, an insidious parasite of the trunks that causes them to slowly die after losing a large quantity of resin.

Great hiking route. Not overly difficult. However, you have to be sure-footed and take enough to drink with you on hot days.

Be careful when descending a slightly older trail along a cliff.

The view from Case Serro is wonderful and recommended.
