Chrenginpach was first mentioned in a document in 985 as the location of a baptistery of St. Stephen.

Creators of many painted rustic furniture, known as Gunskirchner furniture, lived here. The author of the lyrics "It'll be the same dumpa it'll be the same night" was the schoolmaster's son Anton Reidinger. He saw the light of day in Krenglbach in 1839 and filled Austria with his diverse poetry and song lyrics. Another celebrity was Johann Strauss (father), whose earliest foster of his music was Krenglbach.

With regard to this very exciting, varied and particularly musical history of Krenglbach, there is always something going on. From dance performances to the annual hilltop race to concerts, festivals, theater performances and many other events - entertainment, culture and customs are offered in great variety here.
