In the lower plain of the Garonne, the Etang de la Mazière nature reserve protects 68 ha of wetlands within landscapes characteristic of intensive agriculture. Formed by an old arm of the river, the pond is made up of a mosaic of environments (pond, damp wood, reed bed, gravel pits, pastured wasteland) which constitute an attraction for birds and aquatic fauna.
