The Hornet Trail was opened as the first official mountain bike single trail in the central area of Linz on October 26, 2021. The 1.2-kilometer and about 200-meter-long MTB route was laid out by hand by the local mountain bike community in several hundred hours of work.

The Hornet Trail requires a certain amount of trailer experience and driving technique: The difficulty is rated “red” or S1-S2 on the single track scale. Due to the winding route, it prepares trail beginners as well as advanced skiers and friends while driving. While the first section leads through somewhat steeper terrain, the path becomes flatter and more flowing downwards. All of the rocks integrated in the natural path can be bypassed, and terrain edges and jumps can also be rolled over. Please note: In wet or winter conditions, the technical demands on driving increase considerably due to the greasy surface.
