In 1912, Édouard Noetzlin, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Banque de Paris et des Pays-Bas, became the new owner of the estate.
In the aftermath of World War II, his son Jacques offered to hand over the property to his friend Frédéric Joliot-Curie, then director of the National Center for Scientific Research. The deed of sale was signed in 1946. The CNRS set up its offices within the grounds of the castle and its laboratories in part of the park, but undertook to keep the estate as it was.
