Wyspa Piasek is a small, quiet island in the middle of the Oder and perfect for a short walk away from the hustle and bustle.
A good sightseeing tip: go from there directly to the nearby Cathedral Island (Ostrów Tumski). Especially in the late afternoon, the walk across the bridges is worth it – you'll have beautiful views of the historic old town of Wrocław and can see the lamplighters who manually light the gas lanterns along the way. It almost feels like a little time travel.
