Villa della Regina is a seventeenth-century Turin villa located in the eastern-hilly part of the city, in the Borgo Po district. Built at the behest of Maurizio di Savoia - first cardinal and then, from 1641, Prince of Oneglia: hence the original name of Villa of the Cardinal Prince [1] - and then passed to his wife Ludovica (or Luisa Cristina) of Savoy, later it was chosen as a summer residence first by Anna Maria d'Orleans and then by Polissena d'Assia, queens of Sardinia, hence the name by which it is known. From 1869 it was donated by the Savoy to the National Institute for the Daughters of the Italian Soldiers. It is part of the circuit of the Savoy residences in Piedmont and since 1997 it has been registered on the World Heritage List as part of the UNESCO Savoy Residences serial site.
