On May 30, 1874, the "Nagoldbahn" was opened from Horb via Eutingen and Hochdorf and on to Pforzheim. From 1879, trains also ran from Horb to Stuttgart via Eutingen and Böblingen through the Eutingen Valley. The Eutingen - Horb railway line, as part of the connection from Stuttgart to Zurich, has been double-tracked since 1887.
The electrification of the Stuttgart - Horb railway line was completed in 1974. The last regular steam train ran from Horb to Freudenstadt through the Eutingen Valley on September 27, 1974.Source: Information board at the location
