Please check local regulations for: Parco Nazionale dello Stelvio - Nationalpark Stilfser Joch
Location: Valdidentro, Sondrio, Lombardy, Italy
It is the final part of the Cancano climb to the Torri di Fraele (1963 m above sea level), a pedalable climb of around 14 km and almost 800 meters of altitude difference, with a very regular gradient that is close to 7% with a maximum peak of 8.5 %.
It overlooks Valdidentro, connecting the municipality of the same name to the lakes of Cancano and San Giacomo, two artificial basins immersed in the mountains of Bormio, Livigno and Switzerland. The climb is suitable for both mountain bikes (for which the dirt road that embraces the two lakes is reserved) and road bikes, recently the destination of a stage of the Giro d'Italia (2020).
