The book sculpture is one of a total of 18 stations along the Hohe Strasse regional park route, which invite you to take a rest and to see.

Around the almost man-sized sculpture, the green belt animal loops. The creature devised by Robert Gernhardt, a representative of the New Frankfurt School, stands for the landscape project Grüngürtel. The book points to Bergen-Enkheim's city writer tradition.

The book sculpture was erected to explain the symbolic office of "City Clerk of Bergen". The then-acting City Clerk Ingomar von Kieseritzky wrote a text; the former City Clerk Robert Gernhardt designed the cover with the green armadillo.

The plan was actually to erect a new sculpture with texts from the prize winners at this location every year, for the "inauguration" of the City Clerks, so that a kind of book avenue would have been created. Unfortunately, this plan failed once again due to filthy lucre.

The monument has disappeared, but now there is an announcement from the cultural society that nourishes hope. (Photo attached)

The "book sculpture" is made of plastic and was made in 2005 by the artist Grit Zielinski. The sculpture was part of the project "Frankfurt Booktown" on the occasion of the Frankfurt Book Fair 2005, in which a large number of such book sculptures were set up.
