At the "Am Zollstock" crossroads, the old hut was demolished and a new, beautiful "hut" made of chestnut wood was erected. The ascent to the hut takes place over huge Bundsandstein stones. -
This used to be a trade route between Hohenberg and Förlenberg, because a customs station stood here around 1786. This is where the dominions of the Electorate of the Palatinate, the Bishopric of Speyer and the Duchy of Zweibrücken met. When the dominions were dissolved, the customs station was also dissolved after just three years by the French Revolution. A memorial stone from 1986 still bears witness to the customs station today.
