In the 1960s, the lake was created as a water reservoir for vineyard irrigation when the vineyards were being cleared. However, it increasingly became a recreational lake. Although the shore areas are actually not allowed to be entered by humans or dogs and bathing is not allowed, it is considered a bathing lake, also for nudists. There is also a barbecue area close by, which you can plan for a lunch break during the tour. Unfortunately mostly overcrowded on weekends.
