The hermitage dedicated to Saint Bernat, patron saint of Carlet together with his sisters, Maria and Gràcia, is located in the Pintarrafes area, which means "home of the son of the Moorish chief". The sanctuary was erected around 1613.
The hermitage was built where St. Bernard, Mary and Grace were born, where the palace where the Muslim parents of the martyrs lived used to be. It was later demolished and the current one was built in the 18th century.
From its construction until 1999, the hermitage was the hereditary property of the counts of Carlet. In 1999, Countess Paloma Barrís i Armet de Castellví donated the hermitage to the brotherhood named after the Carlet patrons.
Architecturally, the current 18th century hermitage is a chapel with a central plan, heptagonal on the outside and circular on the inside. The central space is covered by a blue-roofed dome that sits atop a seven-sided drum. The dome is topped by a beautiful cross. The body surrounding the central space has a floor at the top in which several balconies open.
The hermitage of Sant Bernat is surrounded by a large green carpet made up of orange trees and other tree species.
