Not bad for a school rowing lake! Built, owned & used by Eton College for its school rowing, it was also used as the venue for the rowing events during the Olympics. Set in a lovely park, an easy ride along the towpath from Eton.

CURRENTLY CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC (July 2020)!!

Unfortunately due to anti-social behaviour, littering and a lack of social distancing, the lake has been closed to the public for the foreseeable future. All footpaths and cycling routes are closed. It is possible to cycle along the side of the Thames and then back round through Dorney, taking the bridge to Monkey Island to get back across the river.

Dorney Lake is completely closed to all visitors during Spring, Summer and Autumn. NCN 4 which skirts the site is in poor condition after rain, with deep mud. A very regrettable decision by Eton College.
