The Pilgrim Fathers' Memorial (or Mayflower Memorial) was designed by R.M. Lucas, made and erected by Garret and Haysom and unveiled by the U.S. Ambassador, Dr William Hines Page, in August 1913. The monument consists of a 50 ft high column of Portland Stone on a base, surmounted by a cupola and a copper model of the Mayflower. Much of the carved stonework is by stonemason Charles Henry Meadows, who worked for Garret and Haysom from c.1897. It commemorates the sailing of the Pilgrim Fathers to America in the Mayflower and Speedwell in 1620. It is situated on Town Quay, between Bugle Street and West Quay. It is Grade II listed.
