The Teatro Comunale di Modena, renamed the Teatro Comunale Luciano Pavarotti in October 2007, it is an opera house.
The idea for the creation of today's theater dates back to 1838, when it turned out that the then existing Teatro Comunale di via Emilia (in double private and public ownership) was no longer suitable for the staging of opera. However, until that time this house was the venue for presentations of all the works of Donizetti, Bellini and Rossini, and Modena was a thriving opera culture.
