The Lipizzaner horse was meant to elevate splendor and luxury in the service of kings and queens. The baroque appearance of the variety, the attractive movement and the immaculate appearance provide a unique experience.

The breeding of the Lipizzaner horse in Hungary dates back to 1806, and after several detours, the stud moved to today's breeding site, the Bükk Plateau, where the natural conditions best meet the needs of the breed. At present, 70 mothers and herdsmen in Szilvásvárad are provided with the further development of this uniquely valuable breed. The current horse population is around 250. The foals are reared in Csipkéskút, a specially protected part of the Bükk National Park, until they are 3 years old.

The State Farm of Szilvásvárad, founded in 1952, now known as the State Stud Farm Szilvásvárad, is responsible for the maintenance of the Lipizzaner pedigree in Hungary.
