Excerpt from the book by Marianne Schäfer: The Tabbertschen Mörtelwerke acquired 90 acres of land in Müggelheim in 1905 for a sand chute. Prospecting on the Seddinberg, which was 63.5 meters high according to old maps, was approved. Within 40 years, the mountain was removed and from then on excavated into the depths. A mighty pit was created, as well as a port with a pouring system on Seddinsee. At the end of the Second World War, the work was stopped and from 1947 the Seddingrube was used as well as the Kleine Krampe for backfilling with Berlin rubble.
Later until 1988, the GDR police's firing range, the area taken over by the Berlin police in 1992.
A high plateau was created on the eastern side, which was later used as a take-off and landing pad for agricultural aircraft.
