This is probably the only path that has really led to the moor in the narrower sense since 2019. All other routes seem to have been closed to the public by the state moor administration over the past two years. On a sign on another - former - way into the moor hangs an announcement from 2019, on which it says that the paths into the interior of the moor will be closed from autumn 2019, because a new one will then be opened in the eastern area of the moor Bike path will have created. It seems to be this curlew route. All other paths around the moor (to the west) have therefore been on roads since then. The reason for the measure is probably the protection of birds and nature.

Very nice gravel bike path parallel to the south-north road. If you are traveling here you should definitely get off the main road and this way. The main road can no longer be heard on this path and you are immediately in nature. On the way there is a lookout hill where you can ride a bike. An absolute recommendation!

Circumnavigate the Bargerveen or cross the other side of the north-south canal on the Hünenweg through the local moor/peat extraction area
