The founder of the Katzow Sculpture Park is the sculptor Thomas Radeloff, who placed his first "three figures" on the lawn in 1991. The idea became a viable concept. In 1992 the first international sculpture workshop took place, which from then on became part of the program and enriched the sculpture park every year with several sculptures by domestic and foreign artists. In 1993 the Katzow Sculpture Park Association was founded and in 1994 construction began on the art barn, which was inaugurated in 1995 with the final exhibition of the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Cultural Summer. The international sculpture workshop made the Katzow Sculpture Park known beyond the country's borders. The artists came to Katzow from Taiwan, the USA, Peru and even from the South Pacific island of Vanuatu. There are now over 100 sculptures by 96 artists from 23 countries, covering an area of 20 hectares, here in the Pomeranian countryside between Greifswald and Wolgast. This makes the Katzow Sculpture Park the largest in Europe.
Absolutely recommended - large and spacious. Some objects look completely different from different perspectives. Bring your time and wander through the art
