Cañada Real de la Plata

Royal glens are called those livestock routes of traditional use in the transhumance of cattle in Spain, and were defined by a royal edict of Alfonso X the Wise in 1273 in which the Honored Council of the Mesta was created. Its journey from north to south begins in the city of Toledo, passes to the province of Ciudad Real through Malagón and crosses the Guadiana river by the Malvecinos bridge, very close to Calatrava la Vieja, crossing the town of Carrión de Calatrava to go to Almagro . From this town, it leaves for the old Oreto (in Granátula de Calatrava), it continues towards the mountains between San Lorenzo de Calatrava and Viso del Marques to jump the Sierra Morena and appear in the province of Jaén in Baños de la Encina, there it joins to other ravines towards Bailén and the old Cástulo (Linares, Jaen)
