An old Roman cistern of monumental proportions. 8 m high, 36 m long and 16 m wide result in a capacity of approx. 4000m2! In order to curb the forces that weighed down on the walls, the natural conditions and mountainous “structures” were optimally used during the construction in the 1st century AD. After almost 2000 years it was no longer filled with water, but it is still a proof of grandiose Roman engineering and is always worth a break and a visit.
