Next to the bridge that crosses the Naviglio Grande, a large churchyard gives space to the baroque façade of the parish church. The two color tones of the plaster (white and ocher) emphasize the door and window frames, the pilasters that form the facade, the triangular tympanum that crowns the whole, the jambs of the bell tower, highlighting the stuccoes and statues. The current building was begun in 1618 [1], but the church certainly has more distant origins as it is documented from the 12th century, while some extensions were put in place later, in 1758. The interior has nineteenth-century frescoes, but above the altar of the Madonna, to the left of the entrance, there is a valuable fifteenth-century fresco depicting the Madonna delle Grazie with Child which was the destination of considerable pilgrimages as it was considered miraculous. The extraordinary event, narrated by local chronicles, in fact reports that during the rebuilding of the church in 1620, in broad daylight, while the masons were carrying out work on the vault of the church, the roof of the sacred temple collapsed ruinously in all its length, however, without reaping any victims, neither among the faithful, nor among passers-by, nor among the workers of the church, leaving intact only the painting depicting the Madonna and Child which has since taken on a miraculous qualification.
