The Olona (or North-West) drainage canal is an artificial canal, built in the 1950s to regulate the levels of the waterways around Milan and protect the city from the risk of flooding.
On both sides of the canal there is a nice cycle/pedestrian itinerary: on one side it is mainly asphalted, on the other the surface is mostly dirt with some more bumpy sections.
