Rothenfels Castle

A castle in Bavaria, almost in the middle of Germany. In 1803, as part of the secularisation, the castle came to the princes of Löwenstein-Wertheim-Rosenberg, who sold it to the Quickborn Friends Association in 1919. The small baroque garden or the keep are accessible. The toilets are in the former office building. Quite an impressive facility.

This stately castle was built in 1150.
In 1342 the castle became the property of the Prince-Bishopric of Würzburg.
In 1803 the castle became the property of the Löwenstein-Wertheim-Rosenberg house. Today it serves as a youth hostel and conference center.
