The Plattis tank ditch is a historic military structure. It was dug during the Second World War between 1940 and 1942 and was part of the Wartau barrier. It forms the northernmost of three lines of the Sargans fortress.

Today, a beautiful cycle path runs along the water. It connects the railway with the inland canal and the Rhine dam. Several places to sit invite you to linger.
