The Marienkapelle, originally built by the farmers living there in the 18th century, was rebuilt in 1949, but was completely destroyed by an avalanche just one year later. Only an old miraculous image could be saved and since then it has been hanging in the rebuilt chapel, which is still a popular pilgrimage destination today.
