Treskavac is the highest paved point on the island of Krk and the entrance to the striking Baka valley in the southeastern part of the island. Via the D102 it connects the coastal towns of Krk (west) and Vrbnik (north) with Baka (southeast). The pass separates the municipalities of Vrbnik and Baka and is the starting point for many hikes, including the ascent to Obzova (569 m) the highest mountain on the island. To the north of the pass are the peaks of the same name, Mali Treskavac (Little Treskavac) and Velki Teskavac (Big Treskavac). A short paved spur road leads away from the top of the pass to the north, but driving is prohibited there. At the top of the pass there is not really a view to enjoy, but the south-east driveway offers very beautiful views of the Baska Valley. In the high season you should only enter the pass very early in the morning, as the car traffic over the entire D102 becomes very heavy during the day.
