The Alz has such beautiful places for a break just a dream
November 8, 2022
I rode the tour now in mid-November. Two hints: Up to Engelsberg you drive on busy roads; i.e.: a lot of cars that race past you too fast and too close.
The single train along the Alz is really fantastic, but not for touring cyclists at this time of year. The path is extremely narrow (30 cm), often hangs clearly to the river side, has a lot of roots and is a... slippery because of the foliage. It threw me, okay, my back hurts, but probably everyone has this experience. So: wide tires, really good control of the bike and then it works. I'll try again in the spring when the trail is dry
