Munster Protestant Church

The imposing Protestant church, built from 1867 to 1873 in colorful sandstone and in the neo-Romanesque style, stands out unmistakably from afar in the landscape of the Münstertal. On the south side, three gravestones placed on the outer wall remind us of residents of Münster from times long past. Opposite the Protestant church stands the Catholic church dedicated to Saint Leodegar. The church building, built on the site of an earlier chapel from the 12th century, served first for Catholic services, then for Protestant services, and then for both denominations at the same time in the form of a simultaneum, before the church returned to the Catholic community again in 1874.
