Courtyard enclosed on three sides on the northern edge of Petterweil; it stands in continuity with a castle, which was probably built by the Falkensteiners after Petterweil acquired the monastery in Fulda in 1390. After the Falkensteiners died out in 1419 and the subsequent division of property, a distinction was made between "castle" and "castle" Petterweil. After the destruction during the Thirty Years' War and subsequent reconstruction, the area of "Burg" and "Schloß" Petterweil appears as the aforementioned three-sided courtyard. The appearance of the residential building with a steep hipped roof goes back to the 19th century, the adjoining farm buildings partly date from the 18th century. Despite the renovation of the buildings, the entire courtyard still represents a late medieval aristocratic seat, which was formerly integrated into the fortifications of settlement and local history.

The former Petterweil Castle is the manor house of what is now a three-sided converted farm on the northern edge of the Karbener district of Petterweil in the Hessian Wetteraukreis.

The complex is the successor to a moated castle fed by the ditches of the Heitzhoferbach on the northern outskirts of Petterweil in the Wetterau plain in front of the Taunus.
