The three-arched viaduct was built in 1910 from natural stone to continue the Scheldt Railway from Dillenburg to Wallau or Biedenkopf on the southern outskirts of Frechenhausen in order to span a route towards Angelburg. A similar viaduct was built about 700 m north of Wallau over Haingasse.
