Many cyclists would like to sing, but feel some hesitation to actually do so. Fietsersbond columnist/artist Mapije therefore devised a solution in 2013: a singing cycle path. You can now find singing bike paths in Dongenvaart, Drimmelen, Houten, Almere, Amstelveen, Lansingerland, Zoetermeer, Leiden and Hierden.The very first Zangfietspad was an experiment by Mapije on a bicycle path in Amsterdam. She has put up a sign that says you can sing well. “A lot of people smile when they see the sign,” Mapije said.
